Course Structure

Semester 1:
The course explains the concept of citizenship and life skills and their importance in acquiring valuable skills, and working to use these skills in their quest for better education and positive results at work. Confidence in the youth’s ability to use this knowledge and skill as well as providing personal and environmental support to change behavior through the promotion of positive citizenship values, constructive community culture and volunteer community work.
In this course students will engage in hands-on design practices, develop creative thinking strategies, and devise solutions to design challenges. The course familiarizes students with principles, essential software, and techniques that serve the basic designer needs. Students will also develop fluency in the principles of design to form a basis of aesthetic judgment and develop methods of analysis and inquiry for creative thinking.
In this module, students will learn about the basic elements of Film production such as directing and editing, to produce a short video that they will direct and edit and present upon completion of the module.
English Language Skills
This course illustrates methods of using pencils and colors and other materials in addition to learn how to draw shapes taking into consideration ratios using different representations and displaying methods for the texture and symbolic values of shapes, ores and surfaces.
In this module students will be introduced to the audio engineering industry. They will be familiarized with its various fields and sub-fields, to the industry structuring and functionality in general, as well as the types of personnel operating in the industry. Students will also be introduced to audio engineering studio equipment and software in a broad overview, and will be familiarized with the general ideas of audio production methods.
This is a communication skills course, which aims at improving learners’ oral and written communication skills by providing learners with the language needed to naturally and confidently communicate in an English-speaking workplace environment and real-life situations.
This course examines the basic skills required for students to learn architecture drawings such as architecture tools, lines, architecture and projection processes and binoculars.
Semester 2:
Developing the student's principles of drawing using the latest software available. Where all students have the opportunity to experiment and apply various digital drawing techniques, taking into account the technical foundations, which leads to broadening their understanding of the visual language and the implementation of their ideas using digital software such as (Adobe Illustrator). Learning the software tools and techniques enabling him to create professional icons.
This course includes the definition of Islamic culture and an explanation of its meanings, themes, and related systems - its functions and objectives. The sources and components of Islamic culture and the pillars and foundations upon which it is based. The characteristics of Islamic culture. Islam and science, and the relationship between science and faith.
Objectives of health and safety in the work environment and ways to protect those present and those affected. Studying the most important and most prevalent hazards in various fields of work, distinguishing chemical and biological risks, falling from heights, physical hazards in the work environment, fire, electricity, and risks resulting from appropriateness, distinguishing the sources of risks and their effects on health and work safety, and methods of controlling risks to reduce the possibility of their occurrence and mitigate their consequences if they occur. Discussing the hierarchy of risk control, methods of selecting personal protective equipment, and applying first aid in cases of human injuries.

In this course students will get introduced to the principles of web design, elements, user interface…etc. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped with a practical understanding of information hierarchy and user interface design, which escalates into the planning and production of a multi-page web design project.
Enabling the student to find and record the creative ideas generated, building on and developing these ideas creating strong visual communication. Based on the conviction that thinking is a skill that can be continuously developed, and the course seeks to provide the student with techniques for expressing his ideas on paper and digitally using the Adobe Photoshop, acquiring the skills needed to design print and digital advertisements, taking into account the technical foundations, composition and intellectual contexts.
This module aims to introduce the student with concepts and routines of academic research, critique, and writing. It aims to introduce the student to theories of culture and communication, develop a basic understanding of the creative media industries and the students’ role as professional creative media practitioners. Together all of these skills will help students to find relevance to wider career development in their studies and improve future skills.

Semester 3:
The national education course is one of the compulsory requirements for all students of the Jordanian community colleges and a vital extension of the philosophy of national education and education as one of the dimensions of the national strategy for higher education. The National Education course starts with a set of the Jordanian constitution and the national experience.
Teaching the student how to search and obtain correct news information, determine its source and document it, in addition to determining ways to present it to the public. Learning to write a news report in the correct press format, developing his creative writing abilities, and his own writing style by writing a photo story.
Introducing the student to the basics of digital photography and how to handle the digital camera and its equipment through practical classes at the studios, based on studying the basic principles and applications of lighting during the process of taking pictures in various ways and modifying images using programs (Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Lightroom) to express ideas and designs used in creative ways. Application will be in the creation of a sequenced images that narrate a story.

Semester 4:
Clarifying the basic principles of typography and text, to develop the student's ability to demonstrate the meaning of the message through typographic art. The course discusses the history of topography, typefaces, the anatomy and typographic terminologies related. The use of typefaces for both Print and Digitally displayed designs using (Adobe InDesign). In addition, a variety of projects that include different areas of visual communication will be undertaken in order to develop a deeper awareness of typographical characteristics and how the important role typography and text plays in completing the artwork, creating a magazine cover and articles.
Introducing the press report as an art of journalistic writing, where the student is equipped with advanced skills in writing reports. Relevant skills needed to describe, explain, debate, as well as tell news stories are developed. The student will be creating a blog in which he displays his skills, artistic works and achievements, and coordinates all content in a way that stimulates interest and interaction. In addition to the process of writing a critical report on a film and publishing it on the blog that he created.
In this course, students will learn about different military departments’ roles and responsibilities. It will also help in developing integrity and patriotic loyalty to the country and the “Jordanian Military Institute” represented by the Arab Jordanian Army and its role in every aspect of life
In this course students will study the operations and functions of advertising agencies, learn how advertising objectives are defined and gain an understanding of the process of developing advertising strategies. By devising advertisements in response to advertising briefs, learners will develop an understanding of how advertising campaigns work.
Providing the student with the theoretical and practical ability to understand and learn methods of publishing on the Internet, whether for magazines, books or explanatory booklets. Students will also acquire the ability to understand and analyze the basic problems facing publishing on the Internet and how to deal with them, which qualifies him to establish his own project in publishing on the Internet as to open wide areas for him and develop his career level. The application will be in publishing a student’s weblog providing resource links to the topic he covers.
Providing the student with the ability to evaluate and assimilate the skills necessary to create a file containing his design and technical work in the purpose of improving job opportunities by using specialized sites to publish his CV and his work portfolio.
Semester 5:
Introducing all stages of print production starting from digital design implementation to the final stage of production management responsible for preparing the artwork for final printing using programs (Adobe Illustrator & Adobe Photoshop Adobe InDesign), and in accordance with the professional standards required in the labor market considering the client’s requirements. Acquired skills and printing techniques demonstrated on several print and promotional products starting from the design process until finalizing these prints for final production.
Introducing the branding strategy and what is required to make it stand out according to the location of the institution/company and its target audience, where the student will be able to create a company logo, business cards, stationery and all printed advertisements that support and enhance the brand identity using programs (Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator).
Providing the student with basic skills of journalism, knowledge of advanced journalistic work, how to obtain images and visual materials to support research on a number of topics in a creative way by going through the experience of the advanced journalism laboratory based on real events, brainstorming ideas, analyzing them and predicting future impacts, in addition to documenting it and understanding the possibilities of publishing it as a journalist in the future. The application will be in conducting interviews and prepare for them through research, coordinating the process of asking questions, and then going through the audiovisual experience of broadcasting the recorded material.
This course introduces students to the nature of entrepreneurship as the vehicle for making money by creating wealth and producing goods and services for a profit. This course is designed to help students to realize their full potential by starting and growing their own businesses. Throughout the course, the students will learn the basics of creating and sustaining their own businesses. Students will also learn about themselves, their decisions, and their goals to determine how entrepreneurship can play a role in their lives.
In this course students will be introduced to the theories, techniques, and fundamentals of motion graphics and its application to design and media arts through an introduction of the basic concepts and tools for the design of moving images, by using Adobe after Effects. Although technical proficiency is a goal, the primary emphasis of the course is the successful creation of imagery, sound, video, and animation for use in motion graphic projects.

This course highlights the importance of the sound component in interactive media and enables learners to use digital sound recording, editing and processing, through practical sessions inside the studio using specialized editing programs.
Semester 6:
Introducing the student to the stages of digital filmmaking, with an emphasis on the four basic principles of filmmaking (Mise-en-scene, Cinematography, Editing, and Sound) using (Adobe Premiere) software, camera and editing tools, in addition to learning the basic techniques of dramatic writing, by producing a short documentary film, starting from the research and writing stage, through photography, reaching the final editing stage.
Teaching the student, the stages of film production starting from the art of photography and directing reaching the final stage of montage using advanced means in film production. The student will also get introduced to the camera movement and manage cinematography operations, and acquire the skill of managing work in terms of time and budget, and will be applied through the post-production stage editing videos in a broader and in-depth form using (Adobe Premiere) program.
This course is an individualized internship that focuses on the student`s emphasis within the graphic design industry. Each credit purchased equates to 140 hours of on-site industry specific training and is normally taken during the last semester of a student`s major. The student participates on-site with professionals and is evaluated by predetermined curriculum objectives that have been agreed upon by the employer, instructor and student. This course provides the student with valuable on-the-job experience, interaction with industry professionals, and preparation for any job entry. Students must interview for and acquire their internship approval.
This course aims to facilitate students with the knowledge and skills to refine their media productions and develop an individual style. Using appropriate social media channels for promoting the project/portfolio. Different advanced publishing and archiving techniques are outlined and students are prepared to evaluate them as appropriate for their creative media products.
